Innovation, Exchange, and New Perspectives: Our Trip to Japan

Attending Medtec Japan in Tokyo was much more than just visiting a trade fair – it was an immersive experience in a whole new world of technological innovation. From the very start, it became clear that developments, markets, and needs in Japan differ in many ways from those we know in Europe. These differences made the experience particularly valuable and inspiring for us.

Beyond gaining exciting insights into the latest technologies and industry trends, the focus was on personal exchange. We had the opportunity to expand our network with truly remarkable people. The openness, respect, and appreciation we experienced in Japan left a lasting impression. Despite occasional language barriers, we had in-depth conversations – sharing ideas, exchanging knowledge, laughing together, and already laying the groundwork for future collaborations.

A central topic of our discussions was the application of our rapid test diagnostics in everyday life in Japan. Particularly fascinating was the combination of different technologies and the joint exploration of the market potential in the Far East. The insights clearly show: while the challenges are often similar, the approaches to solving them differ.

After Medtec Japan, we also attended CPHI Japan – “At the Heart of Pharma” – as well as the Pharma IT & Digital Health Expo. These events opened additional doors, especially for building supplier and partner networks. We were particularly impressed by Japan’s advancements in digital healthcare and the innovative way new topics are being developed.

The trip not only sharpened our understanding of international markets but also laid a solid foundation for future collaborations. With many new ideas and contacts in our hands, we are excited to integrate the insights gained into our work and take the next steps with our new partners.

Japan left a lasting impression on us – through its innovation, cultural depth, and above all, the people who made this experience so special.
